Fall Activities For Your Preschooler

Preschoolers are an active bunch, which can sometimes make keeping them entertained and engaged a challenge for parents. That’s why Providence Children’s Academy has come up with some fun, age-appropriate fall activities to try.

Halloween-Themed Activities

With fall comes Halloween! There are lots of do-it-yourself things to do together at home. Carving a pumpkin may be too difficult for your young child, even under supervision. But there is an alternative so your child can still get in on the pumpkin-decorating fun: pumpkin painting.

Pumpkin painting will allow your child to be creative and make a bit of a mess: two things that kids love! And if they want the icky-yet-amusing experience of emptying the pumpkin “guts,” you can always cut into the top of the pumpkin for them and let them enjoy digging out the pulp before the painting part.

Coconut Creek Parks and Recreation Activities For Preschoolers

The Coconut Creek Parks and Recreation Department offers several activities for preschool-aged children. All activities require pre-registration and a one-time fee of $45 per child for Coconut Creek residents and $55 for non-residents. The exception is the Jumpstart Read for the Record event: pre-registration is required, but it is free to attend.

Jumpstart Read For The Record

This free event is for children between the ages of 2 and 4. It includes story time (“Nigel and the Moon” by Antwan Eady) and a fun craft project after. It will take place on Thursday, October 27th at 3 pm at the Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard.

Crafty Einsteins

The Crafty Einsteins program is for children between the ages of 2 to 7 years old. It combines creativity and learning through hands-on art and science craft projects. Parents must also participate in the activities for kids between 2 and 4 years old.

The Crafty Einsteins program for 2- to 4-year-olds begins on Saturday, October 29th at 10:15 am at the Community Center, 1100 Lyons Road. The program lasts four weeks.

Pee Wee Basketball, Soccer, And Volleyball

Coconut Creek Parks and Recreation Department offers pee wee basketball, soccer, and volleyball leagues that teach the fundamentals of each sport. The basketball league lasts four weeks, and the soccer and volleyball leagues last seven weeks each.

The basketball league (ages 3 to 4) begins on Wednesday, October 26th at 3 pm at the Recreation Complex.

The soccer league (ages 3 to 5) begins on Wednesday, November 2nd at 6:15 pm at the Community Center.

The volleyball league (ages 3 to 5) begins on Monday, November 7th at 4:15 pm at the Community Center.

Providence Children’s Academy Programs

At Providence Children’s Academy, we offer several programs for children, including:

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten

Our voluntary pre-kindergarten (VPK) program helps get your preschooler ready for school. Our program focuses on early literacy and will help your child become familiar with a classroom environment before they start kindergarten. VPK is a statewide program that is free for all 4-year-olds in the state of Florida.

After-School Program

We also offer an after-school program to provide childcare when the school day is over. We are open Monday through Friday until 6:30 pm. Your preschooler will get to do fun activities, play on the playground, and have snacks, all under the careful supervision of our trained staff.
